Pay tribute
to the miners!
The Plaza del Minero is the anteroom of what is this great universe 180 meters underground, it is surrounded by 40 wax palms that represent the years that the old Salt Cathedral was open. There are 2 large works there, the first is a stone carving that shows the indigenous people doing mining tasks, this was made by the Zipaquira master, Miguel Sopó Duque; the second work is the Miner's Monument, made of steel by the master Alfredo Arújo Santoyo.
